From introducing satellite dishes to producing hit shows like “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire,” “Project Fame West Africa,” “Lions’ Den,” and “Family Feud Nigeria,” The audacious organization is setting the stage again for the flight of another landmark sonic initiative, Next Afrobeats Star!
How to join the Next Afrobeats Star competition
For aspiring musicians eager to ride the NAS wave, the application process kicks off in January 2024. PLEASE READ THE STEPS HERE TO THE END before starting the process at all.
- First, you must have an MTN sim card.
- Next, text NAS to 13013 from an MTN line to receive a unique code. This code is what will grant you access to register on the Next Afrobeats Star registration portal at [www.nextafrobeatsstar.com]. This service costs ₦100.
- You enter the code you receive from the number, enter your email address, check the agreement box after reading the CIC and T&Cs, then submit.
- You will then be sent a verification mail which you will need to click to authenticate your account.
- After your email link verification, you will be prompted to fill your profile details such as your name, date of birth, and biography. Ensure you fill them correctly and submit.
- Afterwards, you will be directed to a page with a list of instrumentals. DO NOT BE IN HASTE to download any. Once you download one, you will need to pay to download another one. Therefore you’re advised to play them first with the play icon on the left side of each instrumental. After you’ve listened to all, you can then choose which instrumental best resonates with you to record your cover.
- After downloading, record your cover to the beat, and upload it with the Upload Completed Track button.
- Some people may not get the code to kick-off their Next Afrobeats Star registration. Relax and read further.
What to do if you don’t get your Next Afrobeats Star registration code after texting NAS to 13013
You may experience issues like not getting the code after sending NAS to 13013. Don’t fret. Simply follow the instructions below:
- The likely reason you are not getting the SMS code is because your MTN line is on DND from short message receipt. To be sure, send STATUS to 2442. Once you confirm you are on DND, you need to deactivate it to receive your NAS registration code.
- To deactivate DND on your MTN line, simply send ALLOW to 2442. You will get the message below:
- Then send NAS again to 13013. You will receive an Accept or Reject pop up, select ACCEPT. Almost immediately, you will receive your registration code in the form of the message below:
- Follow the earlier instructions, upload your music track, and set the stage for your talent to shine!
Other things to note about the Next Afrobeats Star music reality TV competition
The application process is not a one-note affair. Participants can text NAS multiple times to 13013 to download different instrumentals, increasing their chances of standing out for an audition invitation.
